Family camping trips are always a great way to get away and not all that difficult to pull off. Camping is a great way to defuse from everyday life and enjoy the great outdoors with your family and friends.

Workshops will start with the Off Grid workshop the first Monday in April. The Off Grid workshop is completely free of charge. We will go into more detail about what 46 North has to offer. Hope to see you there.

Keep in mind the goal on any 46 North trip, including hunting and trapping, is for you to learn the skills to do these things yourself. Of course we never stop learning, so keep coming back when you discover the value of choosing 46 North. We will pass along any new skills we learn as well.

Big woods deer? Black bears? Spring turkey? Maine Moose? Predators? Check out the hunts offered. Once they get booked that’s it until next season. Most hunts will be based out of a 12 x14 canvas wall tent with wood stove in very remote locations.

Or if you’re a really adventurous soul looking for a real challenge there is always the option of packing in lightweight tents and supplies to even more remote locales. Possibly a canoe trip on a mighty river and return with a boat load of moose, deer or bear? It’s all about the adventure here!

About 46 North Wilderness Expeditions

Northern Maine, Mount Rainier in Washington State, the Lolo zone in Idaho…what do they all have in common? They’re all remote wild places and they’re all found within the latitude 46 North…which has become a sort of playground and home; but it doesn’t stop there. The Mojave desert in the southwest, New York’s Adirondacks in the northeast, rugged peaks in Colorado, or alligator infested waters in the Florida Everglades; not even other countries are out of the question for an epic adventure!     Join the Wild Adventures Team the first Monday of each month. Discuss new workshops or trips you would like to see happen. It’s free to participate, but becoming a member does have it’s perks.

  • Backpacking Primer

    Learn the fine art of cramming all of your gear into your pack and lugging it around for miles and days. We’ll go over proper fitting, weight distribution and training with a weighted pack for bigger events.

  • New York Backpacking

    1st backpacking trip of the year - Adirondacks style! This trip may or may include a summit attempt at one the Adirondacks 46 High Peaks, or a fire tower, or we can go out on flatter terrain, you pick as a group.

    Basic Orienteering

    Get lost! Or do your best trying. This class covers the basics of navigating with map and compass. Training exercises, challenges and a game or two make things fun and interesting for everybody.

    NY Day Hike

    8-10 Mile out and back day hike on New York’s Westside Overland Trail. Dust off your hiking boots and cure your cabin fever. This is an easier hike with rolling hills and plenty of flats A great beginner hike that can be made longer or shorter depending on ability and comfort levels

  • Basic Orienteering Workshop 2

    If you missed the first workshop this month here’s your chance to catch another before we dive into the advanced workshops. Get lost! Or do your best trying. This class will go over the basics of navigating with map and compass. Training exercises and challenges along with a game or two to make things fun and interesting for everybody.

  • Outdoor Skills Workshop

    Basic camping skills that will also dive into Leave No Trace principles. Leave the woods better than you found them for everybody else to enjoy
